Ugly Sweater Dance Party Card

Here’s my take on an animated “Ugly” Christmas Sweater done in paper. This is a simple animation mechanism from the early days of movable books but I’ve expanded on the concept and I’ve added a quirky, updated graphic interpretation. All the “knitted” characters begin to dance and sway as the tab at the collar is pulled back and forth. It looks a little pixel-ish like an old video game’s graphics but that is partly intentional. I was going to incorporate an interactive digital component to this card and I still may pursue that – but for now this is where I left it.  It’s not as easy to make convincing movement from a 2-frame animation as you’d think! I think the polar bear spinning on his back amuses me the most.
