I’ve been delinquent with my blog updates. I have an excuse… but who really cares?
Anyway, I completed this year’s Christmas card and have sent it out just in time for Valentine’s day. We were moving to a new home during the Christmas holiday so this card has the dual purpose of acting as a change-of-address card as well. Due to the unfortunate timing of the move, I needed to come up with a design that required the bare minimum of assembly for us but was still a bit clever.
I used as much of the 6×9″ postcard format as possible to create a perf-out-and-build paper model with as much dimension and interest as I could. It’s also a bit of a test of skills for me to determine who can actually figure out the assembly. No glue or tape is required (since that is cheating.) The printed instructions are especially brief but if one is intuitive, this isn’t THAT bad. “A” to “A”, “B” to “B” etc.
I personally love that custom street van airbrushing!
In case anyone needs help understanding this construction, they can watch this guy’s clumsy meathooks fumble around assembling it for about 2 minutes.
I’ll have to go back to being on time with the Christmas card and asking less of my family and friends next year but I like doing something different every year and this was a fun change of pace.
That is so cool! I wish I could make something like that.
